Engine

Tiburon GT and GTP are powered by an impressive 2.7L, 172hp, 24-valve, DOHC 6-cylinder engine while GS and GS with Sport Package come equipped with a 2.0L, 138hp, 16-valve, DOHC 4-cylinder engine with Continuously Variable Valve Timing.

Suspension

Enjoy the precise, spirited handling of the new Tiburon thanks to a fully independent front suspension with stabilizer bar and multi-link rear suspension with stabilizer bar.

Transmission

Tiburon GS, GS with Sport Package and GT come equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission while GTP comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 4-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC™ is also available on GS with Sport Package, GT and GTP.

Airbags¹

All models come with dual front airbags, while Tiburon GTP offers the added safety of front seat-mounted side-curtain airbags.

Brakes

All Tiburon models are equipped with 4-wheel power disc brakes, standard. An Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is standard on GTP.

Side Beams

Tiburon’s ultra-safe body design includes safety cage construction, steel side-impact door beams and built-in front and rear crumple zones.

Remote Keyless Entry with Alarm

Seatbelts

Standard on all Tiburon models are front 3-point seatbelt pretensioners that cinch the belt at impact to properly position and secure all occupants.

¹The Supplemental Restraint (Airbag) System (SRS) is designed to work with the 3-point seatbelt system. The SRS deploys in certain frontal and/or side-impact conditions where significant injury is likely. The SRS is not a substitute for seatbelts, which must still be worn at all times. Children under the age of 13 should be securely restrained in the rear seat. NEVER place a rear-facing child-seat in the front seat of a vehicle with a passenger-side airbag.
